Smoking room at Lohegaon airport closed for month-long renovation

Pune:  "Smoking area coming up soon. Work in progress. Inconvenience is regretted," is what the Airport Authority of India's notice reads at the entrance of the smoking room on the first floor of the Pune Airport's terminal building.
The room was shut down on Saturday for renovation .
"The current smoking room is located right next to the childcare room and there have been several complaints regarding the same. A few passengers even said the smoking room's ventilation was not good as the smoke would at times enter the security hold area (SHA) and the childcare room. Hence the room has been shut down now and a proper facility is being constructed. It should be ready within a month or so," a Pune airport official said. However, a few passengers are still not convinced with the location of the smoking room.
