When Bengalureans fly within the state, they prefer Mangaluru

While Delhi and Mumbai continue to be the top two domestic destinations from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), among the intra state air routes, Bengaluru-Mangaluru was the busiest during June.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) city pair-wise domestic passenger statistics for the month of June, KIA operated flights on 40 domestic routes and among the destinations within the state, Mangaluru topped the chart with 52,476 passengers. During June, 26,143 passengers travelled to Mangaluru from KIA and 26,333 passengers travelled from Mangaluru.
The second busiest destination was the Bengaluru-Hubballi route as 12,275 passengers travelled on this route. The Bengaluru-Hubballi route is one of the fastest growing routes. Last year, during the same period there were 2,272 passengers on this route. The third busiest destination from Bengaluru is Belagavi, as 3,982 passengers commuted between the two routes. However, there was a dip in the number of passengers between the two destination when compared to the same period last year. In June 2017, 4,185 passengers had travelled from KIA to Belagavi.
