Coimbatore: Industrialists and working professionals in the city want more airlines to operate early morning and late-night return flights from the Coimbatore International Airport to metros like Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru.
This demand comes in the backdrop of the successful launch of early morning and late-night return flight by Indigo Airlines from the Coimbatore International Airport to Chennai on June 5.
Industrialists and working professionals say the service by Indigo Airlines helps them travel to Chennai, complete all their work and return in a leisurely pace.
Their flight departs from the city at 5.10am and reaches Chennai at 6.20am and the return flight leaves Chennai at 11pm and reaches Coimbatore at 12.05am. Businessmen say that this flight schedule is a relief, after Jet Airways withdrew two morning flights to Chennai and Air Carnival also withdrew their early morning flight to the city, after stopping their operations entirely.
