Expressions of Interest called for Navi Mumbai airport project

Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai airport might be unlikely to meet the 2019 end deadline set by the chief minister of Maharashtra, but a significant step towards construction of the second airport for Mumbai was taken this week with Expressions of Interest (EOI) sought from developers for the Rs 16,000 crore project.

On Friday, the Navi Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (NMIAL), the special purpose entity formed by GVK and CIDCO to develop, operate and maintain the airport invited EOI for engineering, procurement and construction work. The deadline for submitting EOI is September 10.


Among the work to be carried out for the airport project is construction of terminal building and airfield which includes runway, taxiway network, apron, airside infrastructure and also landside infrastructure like ancillary buildings, multi level car park, roadway network etc, said the notice.
