Giving reason for many a resident of south Bengaluru headed to Chennai to cheer, the Union Ministry for Civil Aviation (MoCA) has said that Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) which operates the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has finally given the required no objection certificate (NOC) for commercial operations to commence at the Taneja Airfield at Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
A report in The Times of India quotes Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha telling Parliament that BIAL had agreed to give Hosur Airport the permission under certain conditions which are still being worked out.
Located at Belagondapalli, 10 km Southwest of Hosur, the Taneja Airfield, owned by Pune-based Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Limited (TAAL) has been in operation since 1994 and has been used for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO).
