IOC meets entire aviation fuel needs of IAF involved in Kerala flood relief

Chennai: The public sector Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Tuesday said it has borne the entire aviation fuel needs of the Indian Air Force (IAF) involved in rescue and relief operations in the flood-ravaged Kerala.
IOC South Zone General Manager (Corporate Communications) Ms Sabitha Nataraj said apart from meeting the fuel needs of IAF, the requirements of other flights in Thiruvananthapuram were also met by the IOC. Observing that the fuel demand at Thiruvananthapuram airport shot up significantly from about 150 Kilo Litres (KL) per day to 550 KL due to the natural calamity, she said to meet the increasing demand the aviation fuel were moved from Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Mangalore and even from Hyderabad since August 17.
