Jet Airways faces more queries on earnings deferment

Jet Airways Monday reiterated claims that there was nothing irregular in its deferment of quarterly results and no overdues and defaults on its loan accounts, even as India’s second biggest airline by market share continued to face queries on the contrary from several quarters.
The National Stock Exchange which had queried Jet last week on the deferment of its April-June earnings announcement, further questioned it on the difference in two statements clarifying the same.
Jet late last Thursday deferred the announcement of its quarterly (April-June) earnings saying its auditors did not present them to the board. The airline later clarified its earlier statement saying it had sought more time from auditors to complete its accounts, which was accepted.

“We have noticed a difference in your response dated August 10,2018. Hence kindly clarify whether the management sought extension from audit committee as per your response dated August 10, 2018 or Audit committee did not recommend the said financial result to the Board as per your announcement dated August 9, 2018,” the NSE queried Jet.
