Kochi: The crisis in Kerala has spurred massive relief and rescue operations. So far, more than seven lakh people have been rescued in the worst floods that the state has seen in a century. While a red alert has been called off, the state still faces a challenge in rescuing citizens and rehabilitating them.
Now, in a heartwarming tale, a house in Kochi has painted a thank you note on the roof of a house to express their gratitude for Naval Commander Vijay Varma who had rescued two women from the area on August 17.
The mission to rescue the woman required exceptional skills as Varma had to ensure the chopper remained rock steady for the around 30 minutes that it took to airlift the woman.
