Malaysia Airports looks to buy minority stake in GVK, says report

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad is looking to acquire a minority stake in GVK Airports Holdings, which runs the existing Mumbai international airport, The Times of India reported.

Malaysia Airports is working with a well-known international consulting and advisory company to explore a stake purchase even as GVK revived share sale plans to financial and strategic investors, people directly aware of the matter told the newspaper.

The Malaysian interest comes after Qatar Investment Authority, a sovereign wealth fund , and Canadian Pension Plan showed interest to buy into the airport operator.

Malaysia Airports will pursue a deal at the right price and discussions could run into valuation hurdles, sources added.
