Patna airport registers 44% growth in passenger flow

Patna: The Jaya Prakash Narayan International (JPNI) airport here registered 44.2% growth in passenger flow in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal – April to June – when compared to the same period last fiscal.
According to figures available with Airports Authority of India (AAI), Patna airport, despite space constraints, handled altogether 10,17,269 passengers between April and June this year against 7,05,491 passengers handled during this period last year.

Going by the comparative growth figures of other main airports in the country, Patna stands at 18th position as far as percentage increase in passengers’ flow over the corresponding period in the previous fiscal is concerned. The city airport stood at 8th position among all airports in the country in the previous fiscal (2017-18) in terms of percentage increase in annual passenger flow.
