Three flights cancelled, seven delayed

Mohali: Passengers faced tough time at Chandigarh International Airport on Monday when three flights was cancelled and three others diverted to Delhi due to poor visibility. As many as seven flights, including the one from Sharjah, were delayed due to the same reason.

According to airport officials, Air India Mumbai-Chandigarh-Pune flight was not allowed to land at Chandigarh airport due to poor visibility and was diverted to Delhi. The flight had scheduled departure for Pune at 9:15 am. Also, Air India’s Chandigarh to Kullu was also cancelled due to the same reason.

Air India airport manager M R Jindal said, “All passengers heading for Pune were adjusted in other private airlines to reach Delhi from where they boarded Air India flights to Pune. The passengers from Delhi were brought to Chandigarh in a different Air India flight.”
