Of the total complaints received from air passengers against domestic airlines in August 2018, around 63% were against Air India and Jet Airways (including JetLite).
While Air India has the highest number of complaints against it from passengers -- wherein out of 668 complaints, 228 were against Air India -- Jet Airways & JetLite followed with 199, and IndiGo with 155 to rank top three when it comes to passenger complaints, reveals data provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Almost all airlines have closed the registered complaints, spare Air India, which is yet to close 62 of the 228 complaints against it. The ratio of complaint per 10,000 passengers was 1.6 for Air India, 1.2 for Jet Airways and JetLite, and 0.3 for IndiGo.
According to data sourced, August witnessed the highest percentage share of complaints relating to baggage when compared with data between January 2018 to July 2018. Of 668 complaints, around 28% were relating to baggage that is highest compared with other months of 2018 wherein the percentage share of complaints relating to baggage stood between 21-27%.
