New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is all set to take over the security of Kannur International Airport before it begins commercial operations by October end.
Kannur International Airport is the 61st airport that CISF will be guarding. The force has a sanctioned strength of 600 personnel who will man the airport round the clock.
A team of experts from the force had gone to make an assessment. CISF's Rajesh Ranjan told India Today that the CISF force personnel were ready to take the new responsibility.
Kannur International Airport was being used by rescue aircraft during the recent devastating floods in Kerala. Commercial flight operations from the airport would begin on October 29.
