Jaipur: A man was detained at the Jaipur International Airport here Tuesday for allegedly trying to smuggle in nearly 1 kg gold worth Rs 20 lakh, a customs official said.
The accused, who arrived here from Sharjah, had concealed the yellow metal in the form of a semi-solid paste to give the metal detectors a miss, he said.
The paste was stored in belt-shaped packets that could be worn around the waist, the official said without giving out the name of the accused.
