Gangtok: Sikkim BJP president has said Prime minister Narendra Modi will be come on a day-long visit to the state on September 23 to inaugurate the Pakyong Airport.
The greenfield airport located 30km from here will put the Himalayan state on the aviation map of the country.
D.B. Chauhan, the president of the BJP's Sikkim committee, said he was informed about Modi's visit by the prime minister's office.
"The prime minister is coming for the inauguration of the Pakyong Airport on September 23. There are no other programmes lined up for the day. He is expected to return the same day," he told The Telegraph.
