Panaji: The design of the greenfield international airport at Mopa is likely to be completed in four months. Director of civil aviation Suresh Shanbhogue said that work on the Mopa airport has picked up pace.
The NGT decision to dispose of an appeal against the grant of environmental clearance for the airport at Mopa has brought relief to the state government and GMR - Goa International Airport Limited.
GMR - Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) has submitted the design inputs to Engineers India Limited (EIL), a government of India undertaking, for its comments and approval. “The design work, including that of the terminal building, will be completed within four months,” Shanbhogue said.
