The new flight will be introduced under the civil aviation ministry’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS).
At present, Nashik is connected by air to Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Ahmedabad will be the fourth city to have flight operations to and from Nashik’s Ozar airport. The distance between the two cities is about 357 km and the travel time by air would be a little more than an hour.
Trujets 72-seater aircraft will operate on all days of week. Of this, 36 seats will be booked under RCS with fare of Rs 2,060 per seat.
Both Nashik Inc and the huge Gujarati population residing in Nashik have welcomed the introduction of the flight as there is no direct train connectivity from Nashik to Ahmedabad.
