Vadodara: If things go well, Vadodara airport will become second airport in the country to have national highway pass under its runway.
This, if an underpass is constructed on existing NH-48 so that the existing runway of Vadodara airport gets extended for landing of big aircraft.
Union minister for road transport and highways, shipping, chemical and fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday said his ministry is ready for construction of such an underpass on the NH-48 on the outskirts of the city.
“We received a representation from Vadodara MP Ranjan Bhatt and have agreed to appoint a consultant who will submit a detailed report for construction of the underpass so that the existing runway of Vadodara airport can be extended,” said Mandaviya.
