Vadodara likely to get flights to Gulf countries

Vadodara: Barodians can look forward to air connectivity to Dubai or Sharjah in the future.
Vadodara MP Ranjan Bhatt on Sunday said that she is pursuing a proposal with the civil aviation ministry to start flights from Vadodara airport to the Gulf countries.
“Private airlines - Jet Airways - has already evinced interest for starting operations to Dubai or Sharjah. I am pursuing the proposal with the civil aviation ministry so that Vadodara can get connectivity to international destinations,” said Bhatt, on the sidelines of a function held at Vadodara airport to celebrate the commencement of two new flights to Jaipur and Indore.
The MP who cut cake and welcomed passengers with roses along with the officials of Airports Authority of India (AAI) said that recently she had also demanded that ‘Hub and Spoke’ operations should be started from Vadodara airport by having immigration and customs facilities at the airport.
It is worth mentioning here that since the inauguration of the new terminal building, the demand for airline connectivity to international destinations is on a rise.
