4 intercepted at airport, forex seized

Vasco: Goa Customs at Dabolim airport intercepted four passengers, who were trying to board an Air Arabia flight for Sharjah with foreign currencies worth Rs 22.30 lakh.
According to information given by the department, customs officials on Saturday noticed four Indian nationals moving around suspiciously in the departure hall ahead of completing their check-in formalities.
Upon interrogation, the fliers, all of them from Kerala, revealed to the officials that they were trying to smuggle foreign currencies to Sharjah.
Their baggage was checked and currencies worth over Rs 22 lakh were found.
