Air India tenders apology after passengers left locked inside Pune-Delhi flight without AC

New Delhi: Days after passengers on Air India's Pune-Delhi flight were not allowed to deboard the aircraft after it was delayed due to a technical glitch, the national carrier tendered an apology. Calling the incident unfortunate, Air India assured flyers that it is doing its best to minimise inconvenience to passengers in such situations.
“A last-minute technical glitch led to the unfortunate delay of the flight AI854 (PNQ-DEL) of 2nd Oct. As Air India accords priority to safety issues, the flight could not be operated before rectification of the issues,” tweeted Air India’s official Twitter handle.
Few passengers shot videos on their mobile phones and in the video many children and elderly people can be seen. According to multiple accounts, the flight’s air conditioner had also been turned off which left the passengers gasping for fresh air.
“In this process, we understand that passengers faced inconvenience as they could not be deboarded before clearance. We assure you that Air India is doing its best to minimise inconvenience to pax when such unforeseen situations arise. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” AI further tweeted.
