Kannur: As part of the flight trials required for the Kannur international airport to be ready for commercial operation, an Indigo ATR 72 flight arrived at the airport on Thursday.
Officials of Kannur International Airport Ltd. (KIAL) said the flight departed from Kochi by 1.47 p.m. and reached Kannur by 2.19 p.m. Five approaches were carried out for the Instrument Landing System (ILS) procedure check.
Of the five, three were for ILS approach, one for localiser approach, and one for visual approach, the officials said. Capt. Sateesh Veer was in charge of the flight, which departed by 3.18 p.m. after completing all the five approaches.
An Air India Express flight will arrive on the early morning hours of October 5 for the ILS procedure check, they said.
