Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister of State for Tourism Alphons Kannanthanam on Friday said Karipur Airport has been approved as as an embarkation point for Hajj or annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, 2019.
In a press release here, the Minister said Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi took the decision in this regard.
Now, pilgrims from Kerala will have a choice to opt either Cochin or Kozhikode as an embarkation point for the Hajj, 2019.
