KIAL holds talks with airlines on services

Kannur: Officials of Kannur International Airport Ltd. (KIAL) on Tuesday held discussions with nine airline companies, including international operators, on airport services to be provided in the airport.

Talking to reporters after the meeting here, KIAL Managing Director V. Thulasidas said the discussions were mainly on the coordination between the airlines and the agencies providing the services. Representatives of SITA (Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques), which provides common user terminal equipment (CUTE), were also present at the meeting, he added.
Representatives of airline companies, including Air India Express, Indigo, Go Air, Jet Airways, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, Oman Airways, Fly Dubai and Air Arabia, were present at the meeting.

Mr. Thulasidas said officials of Vanderlande, the company engaged in logistic process automation, were also present. Installation of the system of self-baggage drop was discussed, he said. The officials of the airline companies were also shown the airport facilities, he added.
