New aerobridge to be opened in Nov

T’puram: The new aerobridge being constructed at Trivandrum International Airport will become operational by November.
The aerobridge is being constructed on the Chackai side of the airport at a cost of Rs 20 crore.

It will be the fourth aerobridge in the international terminal (T2) and sixth in the airport.

At present, three aerobridges are operational in international terminal and two in domestic terminal.

The works began nearly two years ago. The installation work for the 77-metre-long aerobridge along with lift and ramp facility was completed recently.
“It is a German-made structure, which was brought to the airport after completing assembling work in Mumbai. A major part of cost for the aerobridge was incurred for the construction of the arrival corridor, electrical and installation work,” said airport director George G Tharakan.
