Season's first chartered flight lands at Dabolim airport

Vasco: Boeing 747 Jumbo ‘Rossiya Airlines,’ the first chartered flight of this season, landed at the Dabolim international airport from Moscow, Russia, bringing 522 passengers to the state.

The flight landed at the airport at around 5 am. The officials of the Goa Tourism, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), Airport Authority of India, Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) accorded welcome to the Russian passengers on their arrival, by presenting them with roses.

A Goan traditional band was also in attendance at the airport. But as there was a massive traffic blockade at the airport due to double and triple parking of the four wheelers, the tourists faced a lot of inconvenience in ‘making it to’ their coaches, which were parked near the old airport terminal building.
Speaking to this daily, president of TTAG Savio Messias said that the AAI and the state government should resolve the problem of parking, basically those of coaches, which come at the airport to pick up the tourists during the charter season.
