Tax evasion of Rs 2 cr caught at Jaipur Airport

The State Directorate of Revenue Intelligence team has caught the tax evasion of Rs 2 crore at Jaipur Airport. The tax evasion has been revealed by taking action on illegal vehicles being operated in the airport premises. It was found that 74 vehicles were operating illegally, without depositing the tax. The buses being used for dropping the passengers to the airplane from the waiting area were not even insured.

The illegal use of vehicles and other ground services was being done for the Airport Authority of India, Indigo Airlines, SpiceJet Airlines, Air India, Air Asia, Jet Airways, Air Arabia and Oman Airlines by Indo Thai Airport Management Services Pvt. Ltd. With the permission of the Airport Director, Airport Authority of India, the investigation of the vehicles of various companies being used in the operation area of the airport was done.

Airports Authority of India, IndiGo Airlines, SpiceJet Airlines and Air India use their own vehicles in the operation area, whereas other airlines are using the services of Indo Thai Airport Management Services Pvt. Ltd. On the physical verification of the vehicles based on the list provided by the companies, it was found that 5 passenger coach buses are not registered and the insurance of non-registered is also not possible.
