Doha-bound passenger from Mumbai held with hashish worth Rs 12 lakh

Mumbai: A Doha-bound Jet Airways passenger was arrested at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Sunday with two kgs of hashish valued at Rs 12 lakh, CISF officials said on Monday.
The seizure happened around 6 pm on Sunday when alert CISF personnel spotted suspicious material in the hand baggage of an Indian national during the pre-embarkation security check at Terminal 2.
The passenger, identified as Shahbaz Sayed, was stopped and subjected to a thorough search. The search revealed hashish concealed inside an aluminium foil wrapped inside black polythene in his hand baggage. He was scheduled to fly to Doha on Jet Airways flight 9W-552 at 8:15 pm.
