Plastic-free bags, cutlery and diyas distributed to passengers at Chennai airport

Chennai:  The Airports Authority of India (AAI) conducted a campaign at Chennai airport on Sunday to create awareness about the ill-effects of plastic and to discourage its use.
Gift hampers containing plastic-free grocery shopping bags, bio-degradable cutlery and clay diyas were distributed to the first 1,000 passengers. A cloth tote bag that could be used for shopping were also given to 5,000 passengers.
P K Srivastava, general manager (OPS), and Nanda Kumar DGM (OPS), Airports Authority of India, Chennai, inaugurated the campaign.
