SpiceJet flight to Colombo grounded after snag

Madurai:  A SpiceJet flight bound for Colombo was grounded at the Madurai international airport on Friday after the pilot noticed a technical snag minutes before take-off. The flight was supposed to take off at 12.50pm and reach Colombo by 1.50pm.

The passengers were first informed about the snag after they cleared immigration and were waiting for the boarding. Although they were told that the issue would be resolved by evening and the flight would takeoff soon, the snag was not rectified till late on Friday night. Meanwhile, the passengers went berserk as they were informed at 7.30pm that there was little chance for the flight to be operated on Friday.
Those who had planned leisure trips also rued about the delay as they had already booked their hotel rooms. They said that they will have to lose the money on hotel booking for a day.
