Guwahati: A meeting on air cargo development with end-to-end logistics value chain was held by the Industries and Commerce Department in collaboration with Airport Authority of India (AAI) and AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company Ltd. at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara.
The objective of the meeting was to improve business, remove obstacles, make export hassle-free and expedite processes to benefit the farmers.
The farmers and exporters suggested that air freight charges from Guwahati to Gulf and European Nations should be at par with the freight charge from Kolkata. They also expressed the necessity of cold storage, pack houses, buyer-seller meet, lab-testing facility and state organic certification agency.
