Ambala to get domestic airport: Vij

Ambala: Health Minister Anil Vij said on Wednesday that the Centre had decided to develop a civil airport in Ambala Cantonment and a team of the Airports Authority of India had identified land for the purpose.

Speaking to mediapersons, the minister said, “Under the UDAN scheme, a civil airport will be developed in Ambala Cantonment by the Centre and a team of the Airport Authority of India has carried out a survey of the land for the purpose. “Some more information has been sought by the Airports Authority of India and if everything goes right, a domestic airport will be established in Ambala Cantonment soon, which has been a long pending demand. Ambala is a junction and a large number of people reach here daily for business purposes. It will be a successful airport,” he said.
