Aviation Minister urged to restore Hubballi-Hyderabad flights

Hubballi: Taking exception to the sudden decision of SpiceJet to discontinue flight services between Hubballi and Hyderabad despite good patronage, former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and MP for Dharwad Pralhad Joshi have urged the Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha to take immediate steps to restore the service.

Mr. Shettar met Mr. Sinha at the Hubballi airport on Sunday evening and discussed with him various issues concerning the development of the airport and a few issues that need to be addressed immediately. He brought to the Union Minister’s notice the sudden discontinuation of flight services to Hyderabad and also handed over a letter from Mr. Joshi. M.G. Malagi, senior personal assistant to Mr. Joshi, briefed the Minister on the issue.

In his letter, Mr. Joshi has pointed out that although flights to Hyderabad were well-patronised by the public, the service was discontinued “for reasons best known to the air service provider”.
