Cyclone Phethai: Runway shut at Visakhapatnam airport, several flights diverted

Vizag: A runway was shut at the Vishakapatnam airport after cyclone Phethai made a landfall in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, reported Mirror Now.
Cyclone Phethai made a landfall at Katrenikona in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday. Heavy rains and winds were experienced in many areas in the district. The entire region of Konaseema received heavy rainfall, reported the news agency ANI. The government has urged the people to be careful.
On Monday morning, some of the early flights were diverted to Hyderabad due to cyclone Phethai, Indigo cancelled it's 10:40 am departure from Hyderabad to Vizag. "Hopefully by evening things may get sorted out as cyclone expected to hit land near Kakinada this afternoon," Indigo tweeted early morning.
