Direct Bangkok-Gaya flight to operate on 4 days a week

Gaya: Thai Air Asia introduced a Bangkok-Bodh Gaya flight on Monday. The inaugural flight, an Airbus A-320 carrying 160 passengers touched down at the Gaya airport at around 10 in the morning. The flight will operate four days a week— Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The airline has released its schedule till March 2019. Sources said, depending on the passenger response, the airline may continue its operations beyond March as well. The tourist season at Bodh Gaya ends in March.

Confirming the introduction of the Bangkok-Gaya flight, Gaya Airport director Dileep Kumar said the flight will lead to surge in tourist inflow. Drukair and Thai Airways already operate flights on the Bangkok-Gaya route. The Drukair operates its Bangkok-Gaya-Paro flight three days a week.
Besides Bangkok, direct air connectivity between Gaya and Yangon (formerly Rangoon) is available. Apart from Air India's weekly flight for Yangon, Myanmar Airways International and Myanmar National Airlines operate flights between Yangon and Gaya. The Myanmar Airways International operates the Yangon-Gaya flight six days a week, while the Myanmar National Airlines operates its flights three days a week.
