For cancer treatment, AAI to provide Rs 10 crore to AIIMS Rishikesh

Dehradun: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) would provide a sum of Rs 10 Crore to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh under its corporal social responsibility (CSR) programme. The sum would be used to strengthen facilities for patients in treatment of cancer.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the AAI and AIIMS at Rishikesh on Monday.

The director of AIIMS Rishikesh, Professor Ravikant said that treatment of cancer is already available in the institute but due to excessive load, patients had to wait for treatment.

He said that the sum donated by AAI would be used to purchase another Low Energy Linear Accelerator Radiotherapy machine which would help in reducing the waiting list of patients.
