Kathmandu: An Indian national was arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport here Monday for allegedly smuggling nearly half-a-kilogram of gold into the country.
Police arrested Rajesh Govinda Bhai Sagarparia as soon as he landed at Kathmandu airport from Dubai in the afternoon, officials said.
During a security check, a police team stationed at the airport arrested Sagarparia for bringing a gold bracelet and two gold chains, with a combined weight of 417 gram, from Dubai without paying customs duty, sources in the Nepal Police headquarters said.
