Jet Airways gives wings to dreams of children

Mumbai: Jet Airways, India’s premier, full service international airline, on Saturday hosted more than 150 enthusiastic children from the well-known NGO, ‘Shrimad Rajchandra
Love and Care’ for an educational excursion to the Jet Airways aircraft maintenance hangar at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport here.
These children travelled from Dhrampur, Gujarat to spend a morning witnessing the workings of
an airline hangar as well as getting the opportunity to sit in an aircraft to feel the real essence of being on-board a Jet Airways flight.
The half–day event also gave the children a rare opportunity to learn and understand the working and maintenance of an aircraft as well as witnessing first-hand the cargo belly and landing gear operations.
After being given a detailed tour of the aircraft and its operations, the children were taken around the hangar through various workshops such as engine shop, seat shop, etc. The children also had an engaging interaction with Jet Airways’ pilots, engineers and cabin crew.
On November 22, Jet Airways hosted 15 young Thalassemia major patients from ‘The Wishing Factory’ NGO on board their flight from Baroda to Mumbai. By hosting these children, Jet Airways fulfilled their wish to experience a flight journey, according to a company statement here.
