Guwahati: Air connectivity in the Northeast India will be hit with Jet Airways, a private airline, deciding to withdraw its flights to Jorhat, Silchar, Aizawl and Imphal from February 10, 2019.
The second-largest airline of India recently undertook a series of initiatives to reorganise its operation keeping an eye on profitability factor. As part of the initiative to move capacity from uneconomical routes to more profitable ones, they have decided to withdraw flight services to these four places of the Northeast India, an official said.
Due to various challenges the aviation industry is facing against the backdrop of a sharp rise in Brent fuel price, a depreciating rupee and a difficult pricing environment, Jet Airways have taken steps to improve its productivity and efficiency so that it continues to be one of the leading airlines of the country.
