Kannur: Full-fledged services began at the Kannur International Airport here on Monday with airlines starting operations connecting various domestic and Gulf destinations.
The Air India Express (AIE) that had started the inaugural flight from here on December 9 to mark the inauguration of the new airport began services to Sharjah and Doha from Kannur on Monday.
GoAir operated services to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. On the second day of the inauguration, flights from Riyadh, Sharjah, Bengaluru and Hyderabad landed in the airport.
The AIE would operate four weekly schedules each to Doha and Sharjah and three services to Abu Dhabi and Riyadh as per the present schedule.
GoAir would have two services connecting Kannur and Bengaluru on six days a week from December 15. It would operate only one service to Bengaluru on Tuesdays. It would also operate services thrice a week to Chennai and four days to Hyderabad.
