Maiden public parking zone comes up at Nashik airport

Nashik: The Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has set up the maiden parking zone at the Nashik airport for the benefit of the travelers.
A contractor to manage the facility and collect parking fees from vehicle owners has also been appointed. The parking zone has been established in an area admeasuring 7,040 sqmt near the airport.
The setting up of the parking zone is the second measure that HAL has taken to enhance passenger-related amenities. Recently, it had appointed a private firm to run the food and beverage stall within the airport.
Parking of vehicles would be free of cost for the first 10 minutes. Thereafter four-wheelers would be charged Rs 100 for the next two hours and Rs 150 for six hours. For two-wheelers the fee would be Rs 80 for six hours.
Although operations of commercial flights had started from the airport in December last year under the Union government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme, people travelling to airport faced problems as there was no dedicated parking zone.
