Agartala: Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu has assured Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb that central government has already initiated steps to resolve the air fleet crisis in Agartala sector and appropriate action will be taken to increase the number of flights, officials said here today.
The chief minister held a meeting on the flight fiasco with Mr Prabhu along with the minster of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha in New Delhi on Wednesday and pressed for the demand of introduction of additional flights in Agartala sector connecting Kolkata, Guwahati and other important destinations.
According to report, Mr Prabhu indicated that a meeting be held by the Ministry officials with Indigo, Air India, Spicejet and other operators in presence of State govt officials to address the issue.
