Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu in New Delhi today and discussed various issues, particularly speedy clearances for construction of an international airport in Mandi.
He thanked the minister for getting the survey conducted for the proposed airport.
He said 700 acres, of which 640 acres private and 60 acres government land, had been identified at Naagchala for the airport construction.
“Mandi is the central point of the state and is the gateway to the border areas. Therefore, it is an important place for having an international airport,” he said.
