Travel agent booked for forging Greece visas

Ahmedabad: It was shocking for 34-year-old Jagdish Solanki of Akhdol village in Nadiad and Rupalben Patel who left for a vacation in Greece from Ahmedabad airport when they found out during a connecting flight at Abu Dabhi Airport that the visas applied on their passport were fake. Both were deported to Ahmedabad where they have lodged a complaint against a travel agent Milav Sanghvi of Bodakdev for cheating them of Rs 3 lakh each.
According to the complaint lodged by Solanki, who is a farmer, they had contacted the travel agent through a newspaper advertisement. The agent took Rs 3 lakh from each of them and gave them their passports with visas for Greece stamped on them. “On September 16, they left for Greece via Abu Dabhi. They got down at Abu Dabhi Airport and while boarding a connecting flight to Greece, they were told that the visas on their passport were fake. Both were deported to Ahmedabad and were handed over to Airport Police Station for further investigation,” said a senior police official. A police official said that after verifying that the visas were indeed fake, Solanki has lodged a complaint of cheating against Sanghvi.
