Tripura: Patient denied boarding in Indigo Flight despite fit-to-fly certificate

A patient was denied boarding in a Kolkata-Agartala Indigo Flight (6E 276) at the very last moment which caused a huge resentment among the family members of the patient. Last evening a patient Krishnadhan Das (48) was returning to Agartala along with his two family members Pintu Debnath (50) and Keshab Deb (46) after being treated at a private hospital in Kolkata. The family members of the patient had arranged for a wheel chair at the airport and were carrying release order of the patient from the hospital along with fit-to-fly certificate of the patient.
But surprisingly despite all the necessary documents, the Indigo authority denied boarding of the patient stating that an old report of December 7th shows that the patient has low hemoglobin which makes him unfit to fly.
The officials of Indigo allegedly did not even care to consider the recent fit to fly certificate and reports of the patient issued by a doctor of one of the most renowned hospitals of Kolkata.
The passengers were however assured of full refund of their tickets via their travel agent. At last Air India airlines on humanitarian grounds allowed the patient along with his family members to fly in their fight IC 745. The passengers had to instantly book tickets costing a whooping 10,300 rupees each for the flight.
