Vehicle restriction at airport infuriates city industrialists

Amritsar: The Focal Point Industries Association has written to Shwait Malik, member of Rajya Sabha and president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Punjab unit, against the restriction on vehicles at the Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport. No vehicle is allowed at the entrance of the main hall.
Kamal Dalmia, chairman of the Focal Point Industries Association, stated in a letter to the MP that for the last three years, five minutes were allowed for picking or dropping passengers at the airport. No such restriction is applicable at any other international airport in the country. It is not possible to offload luggage of four passengers within five minutes starting from the entrance to exit point, he said.

“For the last one month, the airport authority is not allowing vehicles beyond the parking area. Even trolleys are not available inside or near the parking area. This further leads to inconvenience and wastage of precious time,” he added.
