Passengers will have to shell out more for flying from Delhi airport from today, as the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) last week approved revision of service charges. Passengers will have to pay up to Rs 77 more for flying out of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). Till now, DIAL would levy Rs 10 on domestic tickets and Rs 45 on international tickets as passenger service fee.
The passengers flying from the airport will now have to pay Rs 77 as passenger service fee (PSF)-facilitation (taxes extra). The user development fee of Rs 10 for domestic passengers and Rs 45 for international passengers will be done away. The tickets issued against foreign currency will be charged at $1.93 per departing passenger.
DIAL is a joint venture between GMR group and Airport Authority of India (AAI) and others. Federation of Indian Airlines, which represents airlines like IndiGo, Jet Airways, SpiceJet and GoAir, has opposed the move, saying basic airport charges would have an adverse impact on airlines and passengers.
