VSI airport boundary wall construction on fast lane

Port Blair: Considered crucial for security of airports, construction of the elevated boundary wall for Veer Savarkar International Airport here is fast nearing completion. Being executed at an estimated cost of over 19 crores, the project is part of the government’s plan to upgrade facilities, security and safety of airports across the country. Presently more than forty percent of construction of retaining wall-cum-operational boundary wall along the land slide area has been completed while the rest is expected to be completed soon.
Speaking to EOI, a worker engaged at the construction site informed that the project may take another two years to complete.
