Mumbai: Air India passengers booked on the Wednesday flight to New York have been facing a harrowing time as the inordinately delayed flight has left them stranded at the Mumbai airport.
Air India flight AI 105 which was scheduled for 1 am departure on Wednesday is still on ground.
"The flight was initially delayed because of a technical problem with the aircraft. The engineering team rectified it and readied through aircraft for departure by 7.45 am," said an airport source.
"But by that time, the pilots' maximum duty time limit had crossed and so the airline had to roster a new set of crew," the source added. The ultra long haul flight carries two sets of cockpit crew.
