Are direct flights between Malta and India in the pipeline?

Discussions focusing on a Maltese-Indian cooperation in the aviation sector might lead to flight operating between the two countries.

In a press release, the Office of the Prime Minister of Malta explained that Joseph Muscat is currently India and that he has met the Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi.

According to the same communication, it was also revealed that the two prime ministers discussed the aviation and pharmaceutical sector as well as the inspection work that the Maltese Medical Authority does in India, particularly in Gujarat which is home to a number of pharmaceutical companies.

The Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, Minister for Investment Chris Cardona and Government MP Robert Abela, The Maltese High Commissioner for India Stephen Borg and the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Keith Schembri are currently attending the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019 in Ahmedabad.

The Prime Minister Joseph Muscat also met the State of Gurajat’s Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. During their meeting cooperation between Malta and Gurajat were discussed particularly in the pharmaceutical, aviation and maritime sector.
